The city of São Paulo will host in May “Chinnovation 2017”, the first meeting between Chinese and Brazilian businesspeople from the Internet sector, organised by the China Brazil Internet Promotion Agency (CBIPA).
Dozens of businesspeople from companies with a large online presence, financial analysts, investors and investment fund managers will gather on30 May at the World Trade Center in the Brazilian city to present cases of innovation in the Chinese digital industry and identify opportunities for partnerships and investments in Brazil.
According to CBIPA, the around 400 Brazilian founders of technology companies and technical leaders of successful business initiatives are due to take part in the meeting.
China, Brazil’s largest trading partner since the early 2000s, is the world’s largest Internet market, not only in terms of number of users, but also as a source of venture capital and e-commerce and mobile payments.
China currently has 700 million Internet users, e-commerce worth US$3.1 billion, 200 million users making payments of US$235 billion, venture capital amounting to US$100 billion in 2016, four of the 10 largest Internet companies in the world and is home to four of the top 10 business initiatives with a market value in excess of US$1 billion.
The meeting includes a day of discussions and lectures by Chinese and Brazilian experts, followed by four more days of meetings between participants. (macauhub)
